Instant SMS

The Instant SMS page lets you send a one-off direct SMS to selected people or phone numbers. It is available to Administrator, Manager, and Teacher roles.

Instant SMS is available across supported institution types and is not limited to kindergarten-specific workflows.

Accessing The Page​

Open Communication and Sharing -> Instant SMS from the left menu.

Selecting Recipients​

The left side of the page contains the recipient list.

  • The list is shown inside a scrollable panel.
  • The search box filters as you type; pressing Enter is not required.
  • Each row shows the person's name, role, and phone number together.

The list can include:

  • guardians
  • students
  • staff

Manual Phone Numbers​

If you need to message someone outside the registered contact list, use the Manual phone numbers field on the form.

  • Separate numbers with commas, semicolons, or new lines.
  • Selected contacts and manual numbers are merged into one send request.

Sending The Message​

  1. Select recipients.
  2. Add manual numbers if needed.
  3. Enter the message text.
  4. Click Send SMS.
  • User-entered SMS text can be up to 380 characters.
  • If the active subscription uses HUMRIX SMS service, the institution name is automatically appended to the end of the message.
  • This automatic suffix does not count toward the 380-character limit.

After sending, the system reports:

  • how many numbers were reached successfully
  • which numbers failed

How It Differs From Announcements​

Instant SMS and Announcements serve different workflows:

  • Instant SMS is for direct, one-off SMS delivery.
  • Announcements are for in-app announcement publishing with audience targeting.
  • Automatic SMS rules are configured from SMS Operations.

SMS Infrastructure And Logs​

Instant SMS uses the institution's active SMS routing.

  • If the active subscription uses Netgsm, delivery is sent from the institution account.
  • If the active subscription uses HUMRIX SMS service, delivery goes through HUMRIX infrastructure.
  • Instant SMS records are also visible in SMS Operations logs and analytics.
